Fact n.1 - Ecotourism is a growing market

A survey conducted by Booking.com showed that over half (53%) of global travelers want to travel more sustainably in the future. A more eco-conscious mindset is emerging in 2021, as coronavirus has amped people’s awareness of their impact on the environment and local communities.

Fact n.2 - Institutions will finance sustainable tourism projects in the coming years

SMEs interested in the eco-transition will have the chance to benefit from public funding.
In particular, European institutions are:
• making funds available to promote the eco-transition of the tourism market;
• increase holidaymakers' awareness of the environmental impact of their tourism choices.

Fact n. 3 - Sustainable tourism generates turnover

 53% of global travelers are willing to pay more for products that demonstrate environmental responsibility - 13% more than a year ago. According to Deloitte, this trend is particularly pronounced among millennials and Generation Z.

Fact n.4 - You can have an impact on your region

The ecological transition of companies has a significant impact on local communities. Tourists themselves are paying attention to this aspect: according to a survey conducted by Booking.com among holidaymakers, more than half of respondents (55%) want to see how their money is going back into the local community.

Fact n.5 - Increased competitiveness on the global market

In the future, travellers will be more and more keen on choosing sustainable holidays. Start the eco-transition NOW to have an advantage over your competitors.

In case this is not enough … Did you know that the hotel sector accounts for around 1% of global carbon emissions, and this is set to increase?
