WEBINAR: "EU ECO-TANDEM: an opportunity to grow in sustainability with EU funds"

On Friday March 12th, 2021, the EU ECO-TANDEM PROGRAMME members participated in the webinar "EU ECO-TANDEM: an opportunity to grow in sustainability with EU funds".

 

Three EU ECO-TANDEM representatives presented this webinar:

  • Elena Di Raco, Responsable Statistical Studies and Researches of ENIT, and Communication Manager Leader at the EU ECO-TANDEM PROGRAMME 
  • Marika Mazzi Boém, Innovation Strategy Director of X23-The Innovation Bakery, and Project Coordinator at the EU ECO-TANDEM
  • Anastasiia Yakush, Project Manager of X23-The Innovation Bakery.
 It was a great opportunity for them to discuss the sustainability in tourism, the trends and challenges of this sector, in particular in terms of the “after COVID-19” crisis

Elena Di Raco presented the tourism figures by refocusing her pitch on Italy. She also spoke about the future of tourism especially in terms of sustainability and social responsibility. It showed the different aspects of a very large market of proportions with many opportunities. Elena also introduced the promotion strategy in the Italian market and the perspectives of the sector regarding culture and heritage, highlighting the potential of the Italian tourism sector. 

Tourism in Italy: a rapidly changing market with promising prospects.

Marika Mazzi Boém, explained the current challenges faced by the tourism sector which led to the creation of the project (e.g, climate change, over-tourism, sustainability issues). Marika continued her intervention by highlighting the challenges, the objectives, the different modalities of the EU ECO-TANDEM project and its partners.

EU ECO-TANDEM: a comprehensive project that meets the requirements of a rapidly changing market facing major challenges.
 
Anastasiia Yakush presented the modalities of the EU ECO-TANDEM ACADEMY: theory-based ECO-TANDEM Education Programme and the practically oriented ECO-TANDEM Training Programme. Both programmes target SMEs and startups, and professionals in the tourism sector, offering10 weeks of education and training from March 22 to May 30, 2021.

Education & Training program: an opportunity for SMEs, startups and professionals in the tourism value chain to improve skills and build capacity around the standards for sustainability in the tourism industry.
 
This webinar highlighted the fundamental interest of the EU ECO-TANDEM PROGRAMME project but also the challenges, the opportunities, the main objectives, the targets and the expected results of the project.
